Subject: Objection to the show featuring the Communist singer Dam Vinh Hung
The Vietnamese American Community of the USA is sending this letter to support the Vietnamese American Community of Colorado in protesting the presence of Mr. Dam Vinh Hung in a cultural show at V2 restaurant on January 3, 2015.
The great majority of Vietnamese Americans have left their fatherland because they were victimized by the Communist regime. For almost 40 years since the end of the Vietnam War, our fellow people in Vietnam have been struggling for freedom and democracy; and we strongly support them.
We all know that the Communist Vietnam is carrying out its Resolution 36 to gain support and control our community in the USA as well as other democratic countries. Of all the measures, cultural performance is deemed the most important and easiest way to infiltrate. Mr. Dam Vinh Hung is not simply a singer. He is a Communist Party member who is sent abroad to implement the Vietnamese Communist Party’s Resolution 36.
The presence of Mr. Dam Vinh Hung is a challenge and insulting to our Vietnamese Community.
In many big cities of the US, the Vietnamese American Communities have succeeded in mass protest against the shows that feature Mr. Dam Vinh Hung. The most recent is the cancelation of Dam Vinh Hung show in Honolulu in late November 2014.
We respectfully appeal the City of Denver to help the Vietnamese Community of Denver in this issue.
We wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year 2015.
Michael P. Do
CEO, President of the Vietnamese American Community of the USA.
