Board of Trustees, San Jose – Evergreen Community College District

Subject: Objection to the Students Exchange Program with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Ladies and Gentlemen:

It has been brought to our attention that a group of concerned citizens had submitted to the Board  a proposed Resolution with the purpose to stop all involvements in education exchanges with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Ed Code 72121.5  demands that the Board take an appropriate action on it.

For more than a century, Communism has been proved a dangerous ideology and practice that destroy the values, culture wherever it exists.  We, Vietnamese Americans, object any programs that allow the students from communist Vietnam to come here, because surely they will spread the Communist virus and cause much more harm to our lives again and to the American society as well.

We don’t want our children/ grandchildren and others to contract it.

On the other hand, it appears that twice in the past, there was no transparency on the part of some officials in this district involved in the process of establishment of relationship with this totalitarian regime.

Please, take this petition in your consideration seriously.

Sincerely,

Michael Do
